Bio

Good day! I'm a Southern Californian college student. I am also known as "Laire" around the internet, so if you see this username, it is most likely me :)

I enjoy writing fan fiction for "Lord of the Rings". You can see my stories here at fanfiction.net, or if you are not interested in parodies and just want to see book-canon stuff, here at Stories of Arda. I draw quite a bit as well, including quite a bit of fan art. You can find my art work at DeviantArt . I play Lord of the Rings Online, and you can find me on the Elendilmir server as Laerwen, Oloriel, and Rosalla.

I am completely obsessed with JRR Tolkien and Lord of the Rings. If you ask me a question, I will most likely know. I have read around a dozen of Tolkien's books, and I am reading more. I am well-versed in the history of Valinor and Middle-earth, and I am especially knowledgeable about Beren, Luthien, and their descendents. My favorite character from LOTR is Aragorn (both books and movies), so I know quite a bit about him. While the books are my favorite, I also love the movies. I have been lucky enough to meet quite a few actors and the crew of the films.

Along with Tolkien, I am also a fan of JK Rowling, Shakespeare, Edgar Allan Poe, CS Lewis, and Cornelia Funke. For movies, I love LOTR (of course), POTC, Monty Python and the Holy Grail, Mel Brooks films, The Princess Bride, The Mummy, Indiana Jones, Pixar movies, Shrek, many Disney movies, and generally either action films or comedies. For television, I really like Law and Order: SVU, the Simpsons, Avatar: The Last Airbender (the only anime show I watch), Who's Line Is It Anyways?, House, Criminal Minds, NCIS, and Without a Trace. As for music, my favorite singers/bands are Evanescence, Nightwish, Linkin Park, Three Days Grace, E Nomine, Breaking Benjamin, and some others. I love soundtracks, especially movie trailer songs. "Preliator" and "Requiem for a Tower" are my two favorite songs.

Laire is your average "young adult". Well no, not really. 5'8'' with long brown hair and hazel eyes, she looks normal enough. But she is odd. She's a Tolkien, LOTR, and Aragorn obsessive, loves to write and draw, loves chocolate, and loves her muses... well, most of the time. Her best friend is Rachel (shakiracrazy), and she shall remain her best friend until the end of time. She likes to skip and sing, despite the fact that she is an absolutely horrible singer.
Strengths: Outgoing, friendly, determined, optimistic, intelligent enough to make a somewhat interesting conversation, not shy, sense of humor, different, unique
Weaknesses: A hot temper, not the most patient person, moody at times, no talent in music, can't hit a note with a sledgehammer, and won't shut up once she starts talking
Special Skills: Writing, drawing, talking for hours on end, humorous, can change moods and personality within a minute if desired, comforting... and combines Tolkien Geek Extraordinaire with Hopeless Aragorn Fangirl in one body.
Weapons: The pen is mightier than the sword... ah, who am I kidding? steals Anduril and waves it around with a grin on her face I've got a pen, a pencil, Aragorn's sword, Jack's pistol, Precious, and orcs... excellent!
Writing Muses: LVIMH (Little Voice Inside My Head): The original muse. Pretty much a floating cloud of dust, not visible to the human eye. When he talks, it sounds like he is in your head. Down-to-earth, sarcastic, a bit depressing and very boring. Helps with the basic structures of my stories. Staff Elf: A Noldorin Elf that originated on Neopets when I did this newscast for my guild... thus why he is 'Staff' Elf. I quit that newscast thing and Neopets a long time ago but the name stuck. Rather moody for an elf. Helps with the grammar/punctuation/flow of a story. Aragorn: Down-to-earth, witty and oh-so-hot... a very good muse. He has a love-hate relationship with me... more than the others. It amuses me and bothers him. He helps with the details and quirks, esp. in fan fiction. Jack Sparrow: My humor muse. He keeps things very entertaining, and keeps Staff Elf in order. He does not make idle threats, let me tell you now... Staff Elf is always on his toes when Jack is about. Aragorn also has a love/hate relationship with him. Precious: My Pet Ring. My best muse, and a great friend. Doesn't come out often, though. He tends to lurk in the background often, yet is a great help to me. He wraps everything up... he's the icing on the cake. He used to be worn around my neck, but is now enjoying retirement on my shelf. The Rest: There are about half a dozen other muses that help with various things, but for the sake of space, I won't give details. They are Albert the I, II, III, and IV, the Psychiatrist, Shiny (Evenstar pendant), and maybe more, but I can't keep track of them all.
